Our Plants
Grown locally, seed sourced native species that are strong and thrive into the future.
Podocarpus Matapouri Blue
A brilliant compact totara with small blue-grey foliage. It’s slow growth makes it easy to manage in any sized garden. Left alone it will grow into a magnificent specimen but with regular trimming it can be kept to almost any size. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, though it is tolerant of mild drought, frost, cool climates, and coastal environments.
In the spring, podocarpus totara 'Matapouri Blue' produces small, inconspicuous flowers that are followed by red or purple berries in the fall. These berries are a favorite food source for birds and other wildlife.
